The PODS mission is to inspire, engage and empower all our visitors, students and academic researchers with the wonders of the coastal waters of our region, and to demonstrate by example that scientifically-driven decision making is essential to finding viable solutions to the most pressing environmental challenges of our time.

A Pender Harbour community fully equipped with the necessary facilities, tools, resources and expertise to conduct aquatic research and monitoring, learn from the results, and become increasingly empowered to make informed decisions that enable us to maintain and enhance the rich biodiversity of our coastal waters for generations to come.
A confident, sustainable, prosperous Pender Harbour community that inspires young people, particularly through environmental studies, to nurture a vibrant year-round economy that can sustain families, is sensitive to development, and is deeply connected to the natural world through science, culture, and the arts.
